Story telling: Who is the mind behind the brand of "T-ciut"? Luca Colacicco carpenter master craftsman, creative spirit wanted to express his origins through this original product that will appeal to a young , active and dynamic audience but does not forget the importance of his roots. The "T-ciut" brand born from a simple word pun, starting from the known "T-shirt" (n.d. shirt in English) and projecting this term in the reality and the tradition of Matera. In fact "T-ciut" in Matera dialect means "shut up" and is an expression linked to the women of the past, those mothers, aunts or grandmothers who pulled up children, nieces and nephews between the walls of the Sassi. Those tireless matriarchs, who managed the family in the absence of males, committed in the camps or elsewhere, came home too late to start too early the next morning. Women who hummed while doing the laundry, nursed and cooked at the same time, carried on the family and often turned to their children or each other exclaiming "t-ciut" without an impetuous but almost affectionate tone, to be heard, to encourage, to comfort or to reprove somebody. The women of "t-ciut" are those who have bred the generations of today, the same as in modern society are independent, have fun, struggling to get the best, smiles and protect their family and their ideals. This small but valuable collection which contains the most famous and significant proverbs of Matera, has the signature of the artist Cesare Maremonti who oversaw the designs and graphics of the whole project, celebrating with his pictorial signs the contents of each proverb, paying tribute local history and allowing us to be part of it. So remember: "T-ciut" means "you are silent and listen to me" and that's probably good advice for everyone!
